Pea Soup Anderson’s

In 1949, when my grandparents took their 3 month honeymoon road trip from the east coast to the west coast, the went to a restaurant that was famous for its pea soup. Unfortunately in the nearly 60 years since, they’d forgotten where it was. Their guess was on the CA 1 / PCH somewhere between San Francisco and Portland. They asked me to keep an eye out for the signs for the famous soup that brought them in. Matt and I stopped for gas in Buellton and found the restaurant. I was really excited to find a place my grandparents visited and remembered from when they were my age.

Wow! So did you have some split-pea soup? That’s my favorite!

That’s great, how neat that it’s still there and still serving up the split-pea soup!
