Today I drove around the forest park in downtown Vancouver with a great view of downtown and the Lionsgate bridge. I stopped for a visit with the white whales and giant amazon fish who’s name I’ve forgotten. Although it wasn’t as nice as I’d remembered, I love aquariums. The Pacific Dolphin show was definitely amusing. It’s amazing to see them leap out of the water on command.

Last night I was looking for a place to read, and after passing a Carrera GT on the street I decided to stake it out and see who would park with the wing up.
When the car drove off complete with the manditory bleach blonde babe, I responded to a comment by a couple at the next table who were apparently doing the same thing. We ended up talking until the coffee shop closed about cars, Canada, Vancouver, and such. Afterwards we continued our conversation over a pitcher of sake and some sushi. Without plans to see anyone I know for at least the next week, it was nice to make new friends and to get a local view.
